Quality of the supplied products is the keyword of our companies' philosophy.

BSV Bauteilservice Vrancken only obtains products from reliable sources. If there is a potential risk our customers will be informed in advance.

Counterfeit parts represent a worldwide problem these days. BSV Bauteilservice Vrancken implemented effective procedures to prevent trading these components.

These procedures are subject to continuous enhancement.

Procedure 1 – Our selected suppliers

BSV Bauteilservice Vrancken knows their suppliers and only obtains products from reliable and approved sources.
Several databases are used to check if a supplier has ever shipped counterfeit or questionable products in the past.
If possible, all products are purchased from well-known European or North American suppliers such as manufacturers or their franchised distribution channels.
Otherwise products will be sourced worldwide from reliable and approved independant distributors that have been qualified successfully.

Procedure 2 – The Electronic Resellers Association International (E.R.A.I.)

BSV Bauteilservice Vrancken is a longstanding member of the Electronic Resellers Association International which gives us access to a database with popular counterfeit/substandard components.
With these information we can check in advance if there is a potential risk with a certain device.
In combination with the industry wide database of suppliers the E.R.A.I. is a powerful tool to prevent us from getting counterfeit or substandard parts.
The E.R.A.I. also supports the development and improvement of our inspection processes.

Procedure 3 – Our incoming goods inspection

Our incoming goods inspection splits into 3 phases:

• Visual inspection
• Optical and visual testing for originality and overall condition
• Electrical counterfeit detection for a large variety of integrated circuits

Optical and visual testing is done by determined procedures, microscopy for surface analysis and digital photography for documentation.
Inspection starts with the packaging, labelling and marking and ends with the core component.
Even parts obtained in manufacturers' original packaging from franchised distribution does not protect you from getting counterfeit or substandard products.

Optical and visual inspection is supported by a a patented 'eyepieceless' stereo microscope, offering truly superb 3-D imaging and unparalleled levels of comfort and an internally integrated digital camera, allowing effortless image capture and documentation.
A chemical test for marking permanency and blacktopping and a datasheet comparison with manufacturers' specifications complete our optical and visual inspection process.

BSV Bauteilservice invested into a Counterfeit IC Detector.

The Counterfeit IC Detector is designed to help companies protect their products and customers from counterfeit components in two ways: Check components as they are received, to ensure that they are valid.

Review suspect components, and analyze test data.

The Counterfeit IC Detector applies electrical signals to a component's pins or a subset thereof.
By recording the electrical characteristics of those pins, the device forms what is called a PinPrint, a record of the scan.
This PinPrint can be used to compare a known genuine component to a suspect one.

If a known genuine component in not available, a whole shipment can be tested for differences in PinPrint or unconnected leads within the shipment.
Of course we can also compare with a genuine component provided by a customer!
